Jean Maupertuis is a discreet and modest winegrower. And yet, we are in the presence of a living legend of natural wine! And for good reason: Jean paved the way for natural wine in Auvergne. His estate is nestled at an altitude of 450 metres in Saint-Georges-ès-Allier. Jean cultivates his 4 hectares of grapes on basalt soils, without fertilisers or weedkillers, working entirely by hand. In the cellar, fermentation is natural, with no fining or filtration, and little or no sulphur added if necessary. The result is authentic volcanic rock juice! Thank you, Jean.
