WHITE TREE ESTATE

Frédéric Gounan makes wine on his ancestral land, in Saint-Sandoux, in Auvergne, on an estate of less than two hectares.

In 2010, Frédéric decided to work the soils and his partner Caroline - known as Carotte -, a trained horticulturist, joined him in the vineyard. It was from this date that the Arbre Blanc wines took on a whole new dimension. They gained in suppleness, balance, and depth as well. On their 2 small hectares, Fred and Carotte produce four vintages. Two Pinot Noir, Les Orgues and Les Grandes Orgues, and two whites: a maceration, Les Fesses, a blend of Pinot Gris and Sauvignon, and a direct-press Sauvignon, "Ma Carotte," made at the request of his partner. The Pinot Noirs are marked by an exemplary, volcanic minerality, remarkable tension, elegance, and amplitude, while the two whites are UFOs that stand out as much for their aromatic intensity - citrus, bitter - as for their exceptional delicacy. Frédéric trusts his wines: he has noticed that, even when they go through difficult, even worrying, periods, they get back on their feet all by themselves. This is the very definition of living wines. As you will have understood, these wines are absolutely extraordinary and should be drunk at least once in your life!
